VIB and Ghent University, where TopAct™ was invented about ten years ago, have contributed their entire patent portfolio and proprietary know-how exclusively to ActoGeniX. Having further expanded its leadership position, today ActoGeniX possesses a strong and broad intellectual property position. Its patent estate encompasses 16 distinct patent families that describe the concept of TopAct™ and ActoBiotics™, as well as their production, containment method and many therapeutic applications. Importantly, broad patent claims have already been granted in major territories like the USA and Europe.
