VIB and Ghent University, where TopAct™ was invented about ten years ago, have contributed their entire patent portfolio and proprietary know-how exclusively to ActoGeniX.
Further expanding its leadership position, ActoGeniX today holds a strong and broad intellectual property position. Its patent estate encompasses 20 distinct patent families, describing the concept of TopAct™ and ActoBiotics™, including their production and containment, as well as multiple therapeutic applications.
Importantly, broad patent claims have already been granted in major territories like the United States and Europe. This puts ActoGeniX in a unique position to successfully exploit the commercial potential of this promising new class of biopharmaceutical products.
